"Frulmgsmorgen" - Good morning spring

Using fabric instead of watercolours, students will create a textile painting combining a subtle colourwash background with machine appliquéd flowers or abstract shapes. Students can combine squares or diamonds, blending colours and textures for a painterly effect.
Basic design principles and colour choices will be discussed and instruction will be given for satin stitch, soft edge and 3-D appliqué.
Note -Kits of hand dyed and painted fabrics and patterns are available
