4. Paint a landscape with fabric (4 or 5 days) |

Students will be encouraged to design their own landscape quilt, learning the key elements of design and experimenting with colour. They will move on to dye and paint their own unique fabrics and then using a simple overlay technique, construct their quilts.
Instruction will be given for embellishing with machine embroidery and quilting for extra texture and dimension. Various options for borders and bindings will be discussed.
A class where each student is challenged to produce their own design but is supported through each stage of the process.
The bonus is the metres of unused dyed and painted fabric that can be taken home to be added to the stash.
Note - Materials fee for the dyes and the chemicals used for dyeing and the fabric paint.
